Three days later, the SLA made their latest acquisition official by releasing a tape where Patricia called her father “a corporate liar” and proclaimed she had joined her captors in a revolution that never really started. “I have been given the name of Tania after a comrade who fought alongside Che in Bolivia,” she explained. “I embrace the name with the determination to continue fighting with her spirit.” To drive the point home, the media-savvy SLA also released a snapshot of Hearst/Tania clad in fatigues and cradling a carbine in front of a sigil that bore the image of a multiheaded cobra that looked like it was designed by Jim Steranko for a Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. comic book.
